April showers bring....Well I'm not exactly sure

Well, April showers will definitely bring May flowers, but my backyard is always wet and muddy.   I hope to work on my dreamy cottage garden one day, but the rain has slowed me down.  I have the loveliest blue raised garden beds.  I cannot wait to show you.  I cannot wait to start shaping my dreamy space.  This is another project that just sat on the "to do list".  Everyone has the list that just keeps growing. Waiting for when I'd have enough time between my day job, family, pop ups, collection launches, website updates, you get the picture. But as the years passed by, my dreamy space was always dead last.  Oh I'd get a few plants here and there.  One year, I sat my plants on the back patio, thinking tomorrow, I shall plant them.  But mother nature had other ideas. And of course, I didn't check the weather.  That night, while asleep, She decided the earth needed water.   A lot of water.  I woke to tipped over plants, garden trays all over, and some just completely blew away.  So much for my garden that year.

But you know, my world turned upside down last year after someone dear passed away.  It still hurts so bad, but that experience has made me realize, or think about life, and death, and time.

Tomorrow isn't promised.  There is never a perfect time to do the thing.

So this year, I unintentionally paused a few things.  Shows every weekend, seasonal collections, over committing to activities.  So what I'm left with is time to garden, time to make tiles for my bathroom, time to sleep in on Saturday.  Who am I kidding. I hardly ever sleep in.  I end up quietly making my way to the kitchen to brew a cup of coffee, and sip out of a handmade mug.  Mine or another lovely artist.  I flip through the pages of a home decor book.  One I've looked through hundreds of times, but always discover something new to feast my eyes upon.

So April showers will bring May......

Gardens

Farmers market strolls

Day trips (I need ideas, so please do share some day trip ideas with me)

Time to heal.

Lets dream of the garden space together, shall we! Because if we close our eyes, and picture it, and feel it, maybe this is the year we make it happen.

The ground isn't a muddy mess anymore.  New mulch has been laid in the courtyard and the rickety blue rusty table , well its rusty, but has so much character sits quietly waiting for a bit of company.  The small cottage garden, while still a work in progress is blooming, life is happening and it warms my heart.  Its like a scene from Beatrix Potter.  I'm almost expecting the bunnies to talk, as if they have lived here for years, and this is their garden, not mine.  The weather is a bit warmer now, and I can safely bring out my linen floral frocks.  I can take tea and pastries in the garden by day, wine and cheese by evening light.

April Showers bring May healing.
