My Story

Welcome to Blue Rochelle

Hi there — thank you so much for stopping by! It truly means the world to me that you’ve taken the time to check out Blue Rochelle. Bienvenue!

Blue Rochelle is a handmade lifestyle brand rooted in nature, family, and the quiet spark of imagination — the one we all carry inside of us, even as we grow older. It’s a celebration of creativity, connection, and wonder — shared through my personal journey.

Why "Blue Rochelle"?
Blue is my son’s favorite color (still hasn’t changed!), and Rochelle is my middle name. As a kid, I didn’t fully embrace my first name — Natisha — because it felt so different. It’s taken me many years to embrace my whole self, and while I’m still learning and growing, I’ve come to love who I’ve become. Blue Rochelle is a reflection of that growth — a blend of motherhood, creativity, connection, and the simple beauty found in everyday life.

My love of nature — especially flowers and gardens — began with my grandpa. He was always gardening, and everything he touched seemed to bloom beautifully. I didn’t realize how magical that was until I got older, but now I see how deeply it shaped me.

So how did all of that lead to a porcelain jewelry brand?
One Saturday, my son and I took a ceramics class together at a local nonprofit. Out of all the options, ceramics just called to me. Rolling out clay felt like being a kid again — and sharing that moment with my son was pure joy. Our first pieces were clumsy (okay, terrible!), but we kept going, learning, and growing. And somewhere along the way, I got hooked.

Opening a fresh bag of clay smells like earth — like my grandpa's garden. I started making tiny ceramic spoons (for some reason!) and slowly transitioned into crafting wearable art — delicate porcelain pieces paired with golden chains and soft, dreamy colors.

Soon after, I bought a small kiln, porcelain, glaze, and turned a corner of my home into a studio. I now have a backyard studio that is my favorite space. That little spark has since grown into a full creative journey — one that now includes metalsmithing, lost-wax casting, stone setting, natural dyeing, and watercolor painting. Creating is simply part of who I am.

If I’m not in the studio rolling out clay or tinkering with metal, you’ll probably find me:

  • Thrift shopping / antiquing

  • Baking something sweet

  • Watching jewelry and sewing tutorials (any art really)

  • Trying (and sometimes failing) to garden like my grandpa

  • Or simply hanging out with my family

I hope you find inspiration here — whether it’s a spark of imagination, a perfect pair of earrings for your trip to the farmers market, or a gift for someone dear. Every piece is handcrafted in my studio with intention, joy, and care. I work with small vendors and casters who share my values, using recycled and ethical materials wherever possible.

If you ever want to chat, ask a question, or dream up something custom and magical, please reach out — I’d love to connect.

Wishing you a beautiful day,
Stay curious, stay creative 💛
