Capsule Wardrobes & The Lizzie Necklace

Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the world.  It means so much to me.  Lets have a little chat about capsule wardrobes!

What is a capsule wardrobe? Is it for you?

A capsule wardrobe is selecting a few key pieces to wear throughout the seasons. It's a small collection of your clothing that you love and wear often. The pieces go well with other pieces in your wardrobe and getting dress in the morning is pretty easy because everything just goes!

When did I first learn about capsule wardrobes? I first began to take notice of the term "capsule wardrobe" with the collapse of the Rana Plaza.  So many people died in that garment factory and I began to look at what I was buying.  I started watching youtube videos, and checking books out at the library. I cleaned out my closet and donated anything that I didn’t truly love, that didn’t spark joy, or that I was holding onto for when I lost those extra 10 pounds.

I didn’t need several pairs of jean, shoes that hurt my feet or that I just never wore because I didn’t have the “right” top to wear with them. I didn’t need 5 different winter coats. I just didn’t! They were either on sale and I thought “why not” or “it’s so cute”! But they ended up in the donate pile or selling to the consignment shop. I now have all of my pieces that I love to wear that I feel great in or comfy in. I have pieces that I’ve made myself, that I’ve thrifted and have given a second life.  I love the pieces that I've curated over the past years.

I finally made my LBD (little Boxy Dress) out of this soft pink linen and I love it! I've paired it with the Lizzie Necklace and a acorn dyed cotton belt. I even added a little bit of an embroidery detail to the neckline.  What have you made lately?  I'd love for you to share!

I can't wait to share with you more pieces that I'm making, and what Blue Rochelle pieces I pair with them!

Have a beautiful day and stay creative !
