Letters From The Studio: July
July drapes herself in golden light, and yet, in my studio, I find myself reaching toward the hush of winter. Not that I'm rushing towards the cold season, but instead simply trying to prepare ahead and not be so stressed out (as I typically am).
The days are warm, the garden humming, but my hands are deep in clay, shaping soft forms and stirring pigments—colors that feel so aligned with where I'm headed. I've been blending Mason stains like stories—layering and softening them until they whisper something just right.
This month, I mixed a shade I’m calling Blue Rochelle French Blue—a blue that feels like dusk over still water. I’ve also been working with a bright yellow, a color that feels like holding the last bite of peach, the last laugh before August ends. It’s the hue of not wanting to let go. Along side this gorgeous yellow, I'll be releasing new Jane Studs. Soft, simple, and glazed in hues drawn from the ocean. Think shifting blues and sea foam greens. They'll be available next month, just in time to carry summers stillness with you.
Though winter is still far off, she’s starting to speak to me—through velvet textures, frost-touched stones, and quiet botanical forms. The next collection is forming slowly, gently… I won’t say much, only that it’s built from quiet walks and the way the light streams through bare branches.
In August, I’ll be releasing a small kiss-of-summer collection—sun-warmed, golden, fleeting. I’ll also be showing in East Aurora at a little pop-up that I’m excited about.
For now, I’m holding space for both seasons: the sweetness of now, and the soft promise of what’s to come.
I’ve been filming moments here — hands in clay, slowly creating, connection, the rhythm of summer. A new video will be ready soon.
Thank you for being part of this unfolding—
With warmth,
Tisha,
